After working seven 12 hour shifts in 8days i was absolutely knackered. working over christmas is really crap, i assure u. the christmas of 2006 is probably the worst christmas i've ever had in my life - i missed home, my family and friends. the intense work just made everything worse. on top of this, i didn't manage to make it to church on christmas morning all because i couldn't get myself out of bed due to sheer exhaustion.
Having this 11days break in glasgow makes me feel slightly better now. came up here on the 29th dec and will return to london on 8th jan. we had a new year's party at ken's place on the 30th. it was a potluck party with lots of fun, games and good company. it's always been the case - for the last 2 years parties anyway. parties @719 are always a success. countdown was at khami's house this year and we had a sumptous steamboat dinner before playing some games and watching the countdown in edinburgh on tv. was a pity that gale storms and rain throughout the country disrupted new year celebrations and a few had to be cancelled. i've never attended a countdown in my life, u know, actually being there in person in the midst of all the celebrations. think i'd get seriously claustrophobic. 6 Tappies spent a night in Bath before heading to london for the countdown. i hope they had fun and didn't get freaked out by some random person trying to pick their pockets or by the wild british crowd. 4 others were in paris over the new year.
ken and i are just spending some qt together and i'm making sure he does his studying! never seen someone so incredibly lazy.. =P it's gonna be edinburgh tomorrow to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary together [we've been in edinburgh the past 2 years on the 3rd of jan it's become customary to go there every year now:) ] and i've just baked a white chocolate mudcake for dessert tomorrow when we get back. the ganache just needs to be spread over the cake and it'll be done.
i want to do shopping! i missed the boxing day sales in london! someone slap me...
wish i had the chance to see some christmas pantomimes, musicals or ballets... maybe this year instead. the sound of music is out!!! connie fisher!!
pictures of our dublin trip coming up.. i'm just too lazy to upload and resize all the photos now.
Emails to pple are way overdue...
