Singapore Beckons

Right, it's been a while... i've finally been released from the 'burden' of my lil' sis, who was visiting me for 3 weeks. she was a handful.. as all little sisters are.. and not to mention irritating too. haha~ anyway, things went great though she did piss me off sometimes but i was glad to finally see her again after 10months away from home. her visit caused me quite a bit of monetary damage but i guess it was all done for her benefit so yea, that's fine. it was a good break for her and i think she did enjoy herself loads, especially in the retail therapy department. i won't reveal the figures, safe to say that she went home with an exploding luggage. the uk trip was her first holiday in a long while and also her virgin flight half-way round the globe (must have been quite an experience for her esp getting through customs and stuff at the messiest airport ever, Heathrow). i'll see her again in 2 months**.  i do miss u babe! (unlike what i said on msn).
** Will be back in singapore for a short 3 week break - 21JUL to 12AUG. i'll get to see NDP on water haha~ o_O||| and meet my prof who is once again visiting from australia.

Seriously, i can't wait to see my family again. it'd have been a year by the time i get back. from what i've heard and read, singapore has changed quite a bit and also getting increasingly expensive - something i'm definitely not looking forward to. i can't imagine moving back there in jan08 and having to work in TUAS... gosh.. it'll be a 'journey to the west' everyday for me. don't have a choice really, i've got a 2 year bond to serve; don't wanna get blacklisted by the edb.. and actually, as bad as it sounds, i'm also quite looking forward to it because it'll be exciting to actually get the singapore facility up and running. invaluable experience really... and i do miss singapore, her conveniences, efficiency, faster pace of life (i feel that the pace of life kinda slows down here in winter, perhaps its psychological...) and of course, church life.

Been speaking a little to some of my friends who have finally graduated after a gruelling year (i suppose they would consider that an understatement) and i can't wait to catch up with them. its been too long. i've heard both happy and sad news but all in all, i'm saddened that i wasn't part of all those happenings and in one particular case, be with a good friend that suffered a major loss in her life.

Work's been alright. things are busy now that pilots are running back to back. loads to learn and do and i don't think i'll be done by the time my rotation is over. what's worse is, Martin wouldn't let me work in pilot on the days i'm off in DSP (for good reasons of couse) but i can't help but feel disappointed. sigh... anyway, i'll just have to make do.

Ken's visiting me now for about 2 weeks, following which we'll be travelling up to scotland together (28JUN). His parents will be visiting and it'll be nice to see them again, after a year. i don't think much would have changed though.. hmm.. not that i'm expecting any. i digress. we'd all be there to attend kenny's first grad (03JUL; his second in another 2 years time). i return to slough (04JUL) after that while ken spend's more time with his parents. He'll come down again (10JUL) to see me just a few days before he flies back to sg from heathrow (16JUL).
