Maybe... to the Stars

Non est ad astra mollis e terris via

Indeed, there is no easy way to the stars (Heaven, as i would interpret it). Life on earth is arduous. it is a continuous torture of mind, body and spirit. God meant for it to be this way, more for some than others, to mould us into the beings that he wants us to be.

i was just thinking about how wearisome my life is but i recall the story from a sermon at church:

"Every man on earth carries his own cross. Each individual's cross is of a different size and is directly proportional to the amount of struggles in his life.
There was a man who never stopped complaining about how his life was more trying, problematic, challenging or burdensome than others and was extremely unhappy with the cross he was carrying. One day, while praying to God, an angel descended upon him and offered him a change of crosses. The angel brought the man to a huge room that was filled with crosses, that of every size, and asked him to take his pick. He found the smallest cross but decided not to take it as he didn't want to be deemed a coward. He picked the second smallest cross and told the angel of his decision. The angel replied, "Well, that is the same cross u were carrying all this while."

I probably resemble that man in the story. Though there are problems aplenty, i'm not counting my blessings as often as i should. This story offers me some comfort but i continue to seek Him.

*

Too often we stray and turn our backs on Him but His hand remains reaching out to us, calling us to return Home. will we return home?? the evils and lies of this age are tremendous; i reach out to Him for strength. What is home, where is home, how do u know u're home? U'll know when you're there; i know when i'm there. i always want to be running my way home.

Luke 18:25 -
"Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Too many a time we make promises that end up unfulfilled, prayers that aren't 100% sincere, deeds which seek to glorify ourselves rather than He who deserves it.
Such imperfect beings, such a forgiving God.

I'm a sinner, Lord forgive me. Amen
