CNY didn't start of well too. we got hit by a taxi on the front passenger side of our car on the way to our relatives' place. thank God no one was hurt and it seems like the the other party's insurance company will be covering all the costs. hopefully things will work out nicely.
During the 6 day CNY holiday i had (lectures were cancelled on 2 days), i managed to do some work as well as meet up with my professor for the second time. he was in singapore for summer holidays (its summer down under now) after visiting his mum in croatia. miss the times when i could easily pop by his office on campus for a chat. he's teaching in another uni in australia now. the meetings were great and i enjoyed the conversations we had thoroughly. i don't find many people that can/want to/feel like engaging in thought provoking conversations that often. and even if i do, its mostly superficial. i'm not saying that i'm a genius of some sort (ok, implicit assumption here but heck it). on the contrary, i'm far from it. nevertheless, i really enjoy being with people who can stimulate me mentally.
i realise i thirst for knowledge but the grinding of life is leaving me tired and drained. even dreams that were present before are starting to fade. where can i find that vibrance and enthusiasm for life again? or is this the way life is supposed to work out (in singapore i reckon... it must be. it is, definitely.)?
Despite these things, i still find life beautiful when i start counting my blessings, even the littlest ones. the world is at my feet and its up to me to explore and discover it - nature, people (the good stuff), science etc.
i met up with my classmates as well. it was great gathering together with them again especially since i missed a couple when i was away. its funny when i think back about how we all were before in jc and compare it to the way things are now. i mean, we're still pretty much the same but its the subtle differences that evoke the most emotion. i wonder where we'll all be 10 years from now. (how cliched.. whatever. =P)
