Had a really nice time at church. haven't blogged about this yet but i'm currently an assistant sunday school teacher @ wesley and i also play the flute for the traditional service on sunday evenings.
sunday school is so fun! the kids are really adorable. oo.. btw, i'm working with 5-6year olds. the sunday school programme is pretty much the same as for the adults - worship then sermon but there's an additional art and craft session after that. i help out during the sermon with any props that are used and later with the craft session with the kids. for the latter, the kids are split into groups and 2 teachers are assigned to each group. i have a set of triplets in my class! they're so lovely.. gosh! 2 girls and 1 boy. (i want my own set too!!) it's really nice interacting with all the kids there; some are really smart and they give really good and cute answers to questions!
some questions the teacher-in-charge
asked during the sermon:
(after showing the kids her whole collection of soft toys)
why did God create animals?
- so that we have food to eat!
can we eat all the animals?
- no only some!
so what animals do we eat?
- sharks fin! (o_O omgosh.. that was the 1st answer!) crab, prawns, lobster... chicken was one of the last few to be mentioned. kids these days...
there are some good and bad animals (presumably meaning harmful to humans).why did God create bad animals?
- so that they can bite their enemies!
hahahaha.....well it doesn't really seem that funny writing it all down but they're really really so cute when they answer!
and our memory verse for today is:
Everything God made is good (1 tim 4:4)
(hand actions included)
-Wesley Wind Ensemble-
Glad i'm back into playing my flute on a regular basis. my sight reading bad now.. relatively.. and it doesn't help that i don't really touch the piano anymore.. sigh! the rest of the wind ensemble and i are currently preparing for the easter and aldersgate services in april and may respectively.
wanna get into more challenging pieces soon but i always have to bear in mind that i'm doing this for God and not for myself. for His glory and not to feed my pride.

My whole family went for dinner later in the evening at the RTC to celebrate my dad's birthday! Happy birthday dad! was a really good chinese dinner accompanied by light-hearted conversation. and yea.. we had shark's fin ($38 per person.. gosh.. it was really sumptous though)
