Sigh.. y did things have to turn out this way? i'm so sorry dear, that ur efforts to return quickly didn't pay off. this really shows us the urgency to share the gospel, not only to those we love but to all the world. thousands of lives are being lost everyday... it also reiterates the fact that men aren't in control of their lives. plans can be made but no matter how full-proof or flawless they are, or how much effort and heart is put in, they are but works of men. God always decides.
it doesn't mean that we can't plan or shouldn't have plans for our lives. we should have dreams, aspirations and work towards our goals and ideals but at the same time bear in mind that only plans that are in His 'perfect will' will come to pass.
and we may not always know the reason(s) for things happening but let us keep the faith...
The Workers Are Few
Matthew 9
35Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
My condolences...
