From left to right: me!- the lazy student who just looks on, not wanting to move an inch; huiqi- the hard worker, arduously chopping up the celery; wang juan a.k.a the master, reprimanding hockchun for employing the wrong technique of kneading dough. hehe~

No rolling pin so we used a clingfilm roll core as a substitute.

ok.. had to put this up cos my sis thought i was learning how to make "ba4 zhang3".. sorry, error on my part.. i forget that there are so many different kinds of dumplings. =P

Great! so it's one more skill learnt - dumpling making. i think the recipe for the dough should be modified.. was to doughy and flour-y for me - more egg, add salt and roll it thinner perhaps. And yes, if u are wondering, i did get off my butt and help wrap the dumplings..
Anita left for canada the next day. Who knows when we'll ever meet again? Everyone knows that the chances of meeting again are slim but the reality only hits us just before separation. A classic case of knowing the lesson but not acting on it. that's the irony of it all - one that exists in most people's lives. Taking the ones around us for granted, or rather taking most things for granted, and realising their importance only after/when u are about to lose them; focusing our attention on achieving our goals and dreams or the 'more important things' that we sometimes neglect the strings that bind society together - relationships.
i guess this was not as evident on this exchange as it is in our daily lives simply because we (the other internationals and myself) didn't want to let the opportunity/once-in-a-lifetime experience of interacting with so many people of different cultures slip by. plus, we all knew from the start that time was short.
Recapping some lessons:
- Physical separation is inevitable
- Be thankful for all that u have, treasure the people around u & count your blessings
- Carpe Diem...because :
> Life is unpredictable and temporary
Ecc 3:22 ... We can never know the future.
Job 9:26 Each day passes swifter than a sailing ship or an eagle swooping down.
> The DAY is approaching.
Heb 3:13 You must encourage one another each day. And you must keep on while there is still a time that can be called "today." If you don't, then sin may fool some of you and make you stubborn.
Heb 10:25 We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord's coming is getting closer.
