Ingleton Waterfalls Walk - 28may2005

= Ingleton Waterfalls Walk, Ingleton, Carnforth, England =
The Ingleton Waterfalls Walk boasts 8kilometres of scenic and spectacular beauty sure to capture your hearts and blow u away. It is a 'must-see' if u come to england. The nature reserve was opened to the public in 1885 and has continued to attract visitors ever since. 2 rivers, abundant flora and fauna, 9 waterfalls, 4 bridges and 3 farms - Endless, perfect beauty, just causes u to revere God even more. I have some pictures here but they really do injustice to the actual falls themselves. if u want movies of the falls, just email me! I planned the trip and was hoping for a larger group but only anita, victoria and alan could make it because the rest were either broke, too lazy or had exams. Hira was in manchester with her flatmates and anna had to mugggg.

Entrance to Community Centre Carpark

Took the bus from lancaster to ingleton community centre, the only stop in ingleton (it's a small village). It was a 1 hour journey one-way and a return ticket cost 5pounds. We walked to the waterfalls carpark and got our tickets at the ticket booth (3.50pounds adult fare, no student concession).

I have no idea what it is with tree trunks/branches embedded with copper pennies.. i've seen them in cambridge too. Is it like a wishing tree/'tree-that-brings-goodluck' of sorts? someone please enlighten me. (:

Anita, attempting to make a call to liverpool, trying all the different number combinations for the area code cos she got the wrong number. Finally figured it out after we asked a british couple.

The highlight of the walk. I actually attempted to get behind the water curtain =P but didn't get right to it cos it was too dangerous.

Nice shallow steps. Reminds me of the artificial landscapes we often see.. except that this one's all natural!

Twisleton Farm

Anita was collecting sheep fur.. she's more obsessed with sheep than i am.. heh.. She's going to bleach the fur and make a pillow with it, or so she says. =P

That's it! The falls were really awesome and i would definitely go back someday if i have the chance. i've never seen anything quite like it - series of waterfalls, green enveloping us most of the way, the fresh air, the farmland.. o God, the beauty was just overwhelming. thanks to anita, alan and victoria for making the trip so enjoyable!!
